I use a blog schedule - every Monday and Thursday - and I definitely use the "schedule" feature. I frequently have 5-8 posts scheduled in advance. Though I move stuff around as new things come up and for a bit of variety (interviews mixed with book reviews mixed with tips, etc.), it is nice to know that I could drop off the face of the planet for the next three weeks and my blog would keep rolling.

That said, I don't think a schedule is for everyone. If it doesn't work for you, I say don't sweat it. Once it becomes a chore, it completely loses its significance and meaning.
