“It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.”~ Alan Cohen

this is a quote that helped inspire me to kiss the career of my dreams, people i love, and every comfort in my known world, goodbye. find more on my site any time you find yourself wondering if this is the right choice.

The thing is, we can always come back to a job. The world won't always be waiting for us.

The recession has either given people inspiration or an excuse. It's wonderful to see someone follow her passion, despite internal and external nay-sayers. Rock on. Oh-and congrats again about your recent great news. Woohoo!

I must read that article! And like Candice, I definitely admire your guts. I'm at that point of reducing living expenses and cutting down debt, but it's a slow process for sure. Being a mom makes it scary for me, but I know the right moment will come soon. I absolutely love your story!

I sure appreciate your situation. It seems there are quite a few like-minded individuals out there, needing something more - and that fact that we're in a recession serves to highlight the boldness of the move. That doesn't negate the fact that it'll always take a certain dose of courage to swim a different channel.

I recently had a fantastic conversation with Kelly Diels (one of my favorite writers/bloggers). You can read her write-up here: http://www.kellydiels.com/2009/11/19/art-money-courage-lets-get-some-meet-bryce-widom/

And, I've reflected a bit on my situation, here: http://brycewidom.com/2009/10/reflections/

Thanks for the link to the article.
